A fine ending to a weekend ... don't you just love it when your subjects are in love? The chemistry. The candid moments ... makes you wish you can just click and click away.

Under the heat of the 3pm sun, we braved the cogon grass together with our trusty reflector (thanks to Cholo for helping) ... banigs, chairs and props

My Leica Adventure in Palawan

I must confess, landscape or abstract photography is not really my forte, however, for lack of a subject I took snaps. I was in Palawan last weekend for one of my client's projects and had a few hours to spare to visit the neighboring islands. Took the chance to give my new toy - the Leica D-Lux 3 a test. I must say, despite the reviews that they are saying that its comparable to the Panasonic Lumix - I dont really care. The latter does not have the red dot. Hehehehe ...

Walking past by the park, we chanced upon designer and photographer, Karl Lagerfeld. Doing what? Shooting ... what I'm not sure of though is if he was shooting for a magazine or shooting for his fashion line/s. But yes, he is a photographer - he does mostly black and whites though. Anyway, for the tourist in me ... here's one for Karl Lagerfeld.

And as my good friend RJ points out, its still a bit on the "f(&#*&$(" touristy side. Wahahahaha ... need to get out of that mode then.

Salon Series 3: Underwater With Make Up For Ever

One fine day, a friend calls (Celine Gabriel). Hey .. would you be interested in an underwater shoot for Make Up For Ever? My reaction ... hmmm ... interesting ... but I have no gears for underwater. Several days later ... we talk again. We have a sponsor for the gears. Olympus will sponsor the camera - to showcase their new point and shoots, namely the 770 and the 790. Perfect for the summer season (okay, this is one shameless plug). I personally like the colors of the 790. But both are equally competent and both are relatively easy to use - assuming you can easily handle yourself underwater.

After some planning, all is set. And here are some of the shots taken by the two cameras. Note though ... after you download the images, you might need to do some additional processing to ensure optimal resolution and quality - depending on the "quality" of the water you were submerged in. For this shoot, we were in a pool somewhere in Antipolo.

I was in the pool, together with the model. I have numerous, more beauty centric images, but I can't post them just yet. This however I think I can, since this is not part of the photo set that will be used. This is actually a test shot.

The Salon Project Series 1: Benefits Salon (http://benefitsalon.com/)

A hair and beauty shoot for The Benefits Salon (in QC) as part of their entry for the L'Oreal Hair Show. We started with our standard set up for beauty, we modified it a bit by adding more lights than usual. And experimented with the angles of the modifiers. The result? Well, as Cholo would put it, it was close to the Amy Dresser effect. He actually enjoyed doing the digital post enhancement. We posted two "Before and After" images ... as you can see, for an image to achieve the desired effect, the "effect" has to be there to begin with. Only then can the magic and transformation happen. With us during the shoot were of course Jj Liongson and the artistic director of Benefits Salon, Grace Deang.
